Telus World of Science – Science Center
A cool place to visit. Fun and games for kids of all ages. The Calgary Science Centre introduces your family to the fun side of science through hands-on exhibits and demonstrations. Local and traveling exhibits are on display year-round in the 900-square-metre (10,000-square-foot) exhibit gallery. Renovations to the theatre have created the finest multimedia theatre in North America. The new design and equipment help staff create experiences for visitors like traveling through a DNA molecule or floating above the earth in space. The Science Centre is planning a $45 million redevelopment over the next five years, which may see the facility double in size. The centre plans to expand current programs for youngsters and implement programs for older teens and families. Costs for different programs vary.Chinook Centre

Spruce Meadows

This picturesque complex has captivated the worldwide audience of the sport of show jumping. There is no other place like it. An internationally renowned equestrian facility, Spruce Meadows hosts four major show jumping championships - The National, The Canada One, The North American and the Masters. The Masters is the richest show jumping championship in the world, with more than $1.5 million in prize money. In addition to show jumping, the centre has facilities for meetings and conventions. Set in a lovely location in the foothills of Alberta, Spruce Meadows is a worthwhile stop on a country tour south of Calgary.
